This week has been kinds of sad not gonna lie. Its been
rough and its took its toll on us. We had a baptism set for this Saturday but
when we called on Monday to see when we could meet with them him his mom said
he had decided not to be baptized. I just keep praying that
missionaries down the road will find him and he will be better prepared!
Other than that we didn't really see a ton of people this
week no one was really home and its been hard to catch people because most
people are in and out of town because they drive truck or everyone and there
brother goes to Utah for the weekend to be with family so we have been trying
to just find people to teach right now.
Sister Poahahu has also been sick lately and so its been
hard. They believe its her Gallbladder and that she needs it taken out? So we are in this waiting game to find out what to
do and in the mean time she is in a lot of pain so we are having to taking it
slow. But she is a trooper and keeps going even when it gets hard.
We did get to have FHE with 3 people on Monday. One
was a recent convert Family the Herrars who are planning on going to the temple
in July. A Less active Whitney who is awesome she is 24 and we have such a good
time with her! and the Bishops house for dinner. So we kept busy.
Also we had a chance to meet with Taylor this week. She
passed her GED and is Registering for classes this fall to start her Degree.
Everything really looking up for her and she is coming to Church every week and
hopefully will be getting a calling soon. So I'm super proud of her!
Ali our other investigator with a baptismal date is
AMAZING!!! haha We also went on Team ups with Brother Tolley Our ward mission
leader. We went to contact this kid who just moved in (or so we thought ) who
is less active. He is 21 and he opened the door and we introduced ourselves as
the missionaries and said we had heard he wanted to come and teach with us and
he just looks and us and says. " you want to go on a date?" i just
stood there as sister Pohahau started laughing and i stood there awe struck!
haha I was like well were missionaries and cant really do that so he then
turned to sister Pohahau and said " I am looking for a dark girl with long
black hair" Which describes sister Pohahau and the he asked her on a date!
haha I started busting up laughing all while our ward mission leader is
cracking up inn the back. needless to say the YSA elders are going to go over
there from now on! hahah. We also had a lesson at the Teagns this week and he
was so excited about being baptized. He came to a baptism this weekend to see it
and kind of get a feel for what its all about and he also went to like 6 hours
of church! Cant really complain her is really developing a testimony and is not
afraid to tell everyone at school!
It been rough but we keep going on and the Lord has been helping
us a lot. Although I don't really feel worthy of his help most the time it
amazes me how much Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ help us and how much I
receive from them daily. by just opening my eyes i know could see way
more!
On Sunday one of the ladies speaking told this story and I
just loved it so much! so I thought I would share it. Love you all and hope you
have an awesome week!

The Devil and The Duck
"There was a little boy visiting his
grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play without in the
woods. He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target. Getting a
little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of
impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed
it. He was shocked and grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood
pile, only to see his sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said
nothing.
After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the
dishes." But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help
in the kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?"
So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing
and Grand! ma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."
Sally just smiled and said," Well that's all right because Johnny told me
he wanted to help." She whispered again, "Remember the
duck?"
So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's he
finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he
had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said,
"Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the
whole thing. But because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how
long you would let Sally make a slave of you."
Thought for the day and every day thereafter: Whatever is in your
past, whatever you have done -- and the devil keeps throwing it up in your face
(lying, debt, fear, hatred , anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc.) whatever
it is, you need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw the
whole thing, He has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that He loves
you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the
devil make a slave of you.
The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness, He
not only forgives you, but He forgets -
It is by God's Grace and Mercy that we are saved.
