Learning Curve

Wow this week has been a huge learning curve for me. It has been a big testimony builder as well. We unfortunately had a lot of cancellations this week and It has been rather down. We did however have great lessons with people that we did visit. We met a lot of new part member families this week and they said we could come back this upcoming week which was awesome. We also had a lesson with Jenny who is one of our investigators that we teach with the Elders. She is 18 and awesome! We love her so much. She is getting baptized in about 2 week on the 8th and there are so many people here so excited for her. She is really a sweet girl and we have so much fun teaching her. Also this week poor sister T got so sick on Sunday and so we took her over to sister Parsons who looked after her for the day while I went to some of our meetings. Over all though it was a slow week. but I have a new determinations to serve the Lord. I have learned this week that the Atonement is infinite. I knew that in my head but now it really has become important to me. The Lord will never judge us on how much we use the atonement. Love you all so much

Spreading the LOOOVE!

This week has been anything but boring. We had so much to do this week and still so much to do. I guess that's a good thing we all know how I like to stay busy so its better that I am busy than doing nothing. We are really trying to get more set appointments every week and we are getting more and more investigators. We met a part member family this week named the Watson's. Brother Watson isn't a member but Sabra his wife is. He had the missionary lessons with 3 different sets of elders. while going through our directory we cam across there name and decided to give them a call. Sister Watson answered and at first she was really hesitant then sister Tiongson told her that sisters are way different and she totally told us to come over and she would make sure her husband was there. We went over and talked with them and they are so sweet and kind, we committed both of them to pray and they agreed. Brother Watson then commented that he wants a better relationship with Christ. Which we can help with. They asked us to come back so we are going to start teaching them regularly.
So we have another investigator named Jenny she just turned 18 and is amazing. The elders are the ones that started teaching her but she ended up being in 4th ward. But she is so excited about baptism and she is definitely ready. So she is going to be baptized on the 8th of march. We also have a baptism on the 15th for Paul and Leah Young who are brother and sister. They both came to church this Sunday by themselves and totally took themselves to primary and everything, It was so funny me and Sister Tiongson were cracking up.
This week on Saturday we went with one of our investigators Courtney to the Pearson house in 2nd ward. There were about 10 people there all to support Courtney. She decided she wanted a priesthood blessing and she set the whole this up and came over and picked us up to go to it. It was hilarious. But she left on Sunday to go to Baltimore for surgery and so she wanted it before she left. the spirit was really strong and she expressed a desire to learn and sincerely seek the church when she gets home in a week. The power of the priesthood is amazing and I know she felt that. She really is an amazing person who I have grown to love so much and I cant wait for her to get back and recover quickly. She really wants to be a kind and loving person for everyone and she definitely looks out for us missionaries that's for sure.
This week we have had so many people to contact and we still do, its amazing how much the work has grown here and how fast it has too. On Friday this week we have a break the fast for the 40 day missionary fast that we have been doing. everyone has to bring a non member so it will be a big night. We are hoping for a big turn out. Of course as you can imaging I am over the moon, because we got to help plan ( and we all know how much I love planning!) But we are doing breakfast for dinner and the youth are doing the program, which is hilarious its a" not so talent- talent show". I'm really excited it will be a fun night.
Yes i did get you V-day package it cane on valentines day actually. which was awesome. everyone Loves it and everyone love the patches on my bag (and my bag for that matter) Its funny because MoHo is a military town so i get lots of complements on my stuff. haha.
Over all it has been a really successful week and I just cant believe i have been out for almost 3 months its crazy but I have loved every minute of it. I love you guys lots

 Love you all!

A Flurry of Finding!

First Baptism
Sister Owsley & Sister Cluff
This week has been anything but normal, the beginning of the week I had one companion now I have another weird! Anyways we spent the first few days going to member and investigators houses so Sister Cliff could say bye to everyone. I was very sad too see her go, but I am sure she is doing great things in Jerome. Tuesday night it hit me that I was in charge and she wouldn't be there the next day. Sister Cluff just laughed at me and just like her told me everything would be okay, the funny part was is she left me a ton of sticky notes in random places to remind me of things ha-ha its been great finding them. Transfers were on Wednesday Sister James and I were so nervous we were the only sisters who had been out under like 5 months that were training. Transfer meeting was really short this time and we were back in MoHo (Mountain Home) by 3:30. But my new companion is Sister Tiongson she is originally from the Philippines but now lives in Huston, Texas. So we both love warm weather which was unfortunate this week because I pretty sure a blizzard ran through here for about 3 days it was so cold, probably the coldest it has been since I got here and poor Sister Tiongson it was her first day but we survived. She is awesome, I keep telling her she is going to cook Asian food for me one of these days  and she readily agreed :) Haha but she really is great and wants to work hard. I keep telling her we are in this together because I don't really have much of a clue either. She has been really patient with me and I appreciate it so much! On Wednesday night after transfers we had a lesson so she got to jump right into teaching, it was with Teresa and she is so kind, so it was a good first lesson. Unfortunately this week we found out that the Whitten's are moving in two weeks now instead of a 2 months. Its so sad they are like family now and I am going to miss them so much. I know that's where the Lord wants them though because they are getting job offers left and right. I told them that I was coming out after my mission and staying with them and they were going to take me to Mount Rushmore haha. They agreed! This week we contacted a lot of different people. We have a new investigator Julie she is the wife of another investigator and they said we could come back and talk to them. They have 3 little kids 2 little girls and a little boy, and they are crazy awesome. We have had so much success this week with teaching lessons and It comforts me to know that this is the Lords work and not mine because I couldn't do this. I really am Learning to listen to the spirit more, and carry it with me wherever I go. I want to be the best missionary I can for the Lord because I am on his time now not mine. I want to come out of this being better than I was. But most of all I want to please the Lord with what I do. Its all a learning process and a Trainer now it weird I see so many more fault and so much more I can improve on everyday. I pray continually to be better each day. Something I came to realize is everyday though Is a gift from the atonement to improve ourselves. Well I hope all is well in sunny San Diego, and I really hope everyone has a better week. No more sick people and no one getting hurt, we will try the same here :) love you all and really hope this week is a good one, prayer! its the Best!

Week 7- Some Exciting News

So this week has been great to say the least. Because I hurt my leg we got a lot of rides from member which was amazing! (#blessing) We talked to a lot of people this week, It amazes me how many people we have found since being here and having no one to teach. It really has been a miracle. It is so awesome to see someone finally come to understand the gospel and feel of the Holy Ghost. It makes me so happy. On Saturday we did have a baptism for Ashley, she is so amazing and has such a kind heart. Her baptism was small and simple but it was perfect in every way! Later that day we went over to the Schmidt's house (that where we met with Ashley and her mom every week for her lessons) and Ashley's mom Kathy taught me how to make homemade pies! No one here can believe I had never had pie before my mission.(Anyways for the record pie is delicious!) Ashley was confirmed yesterday by Brother Schmidt in church. It was so awesome to be there and to feel of the spirit that now Ashley has in her life. You cant beat it!
So exciting week this week. Its TRANSFERS! and guess what? I'm Training! Wait What?!?! Yup you heard right.. I Sister Owsley who has only been out for 7 weeks is training! haha President called us and told us. I said "if that what you want me to do.." he was like Yup it is. I am really excited though to be training , nervous yes but I know I'm not doing it alone that I have The Savior to rely on. The funny part is it that there are 4 companionship's here in The Mountain Home District and one person from every companionship is leaving. Sister James the other sister who is staying came out the same transfer as me and she is training too. ( So is the Spanish elder) We also are getting a new district leader. So this week is going to be crazy but I'm excited I like being busy. I am definitely relying on the Lord more each week , but especially now more than ever. I know that President Curtis is inspired and that this is the Lords work. Heavenly Father knows me better, and I can say that I trust his judgment :) he wont leave me hanging. he has given me so much and he will always be there for me. I am excite dot see what he has in store for me. I Really am just grateful for the opportunity he has given me to be here. Love you all!
